Rahib Ali

Rahib Ali is the developer behind every app and tutorial on this site. He founded DIYTech Labs to publish the small, practical Android tools he kept building for himself, starting with a signature app in 2017, and now including Dociq, an on-device PDF scanner.

How It Started

DIYTech Labs began as DIY Tech Pro, a tutorials project where Rahib shared the electronics builds he was tinkering with: lighting up a laptop keyboard for under a dollar, splitting a headphone jack, rescuing 18650 cells from old laptop packs. Readers kept asking for the companion apps, so he started shipping those too. Several of those early tutorials are still maintained on this site, and two of them are still linked from other websites today.

The through-line has not changed since: figure out how something works, build the simplest tool that does the job, and write it up so anyone can follow along.

What He Builds Here

Draw Signature

The app that outgrew the tutorials: draw or type a signature, export a transparent PNG, keep everything on your own device.

Dociq

A document scanner built around a privacy rule: scanning and OCR happen on the phone, documents are never uploaded.

Utility Apps

Calculator, status saver and other everyday tools published under DIYTech Labs on Google Play.

Background

By profession, Rahib is a web developer specialising in PHP and Laravel, with over a decade spent building SaaS platforms, payment and identity integrations, and automations that connect AI services to real business workflows. He also works on technical SEO, which is how his other project, FrostRank, a free suite of browser-based SEO and developer tools, came to exist. The apps studio is where the two halves meet: production-grade engineering habits, applied to small consumer apps.
